As per the reports, the revised design and strategy of the LDA Engineering Wing would help save PKR 3 billion in construction expenses. The Kalma Chowk underpass would be extended in a V shape, with traffic diverted to the CBD from the extension. The second section of the underpass will lead to Firdous Market. Traffic coming from Firdous Market will be diverted to Liberty from a one-way flyover. In this regard, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) CBD Imran Amin met with LDA Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar for a consultative session. The CBD may also delegate to the LDA the task of rebuilding Kalma Chowk. The CBD will make the final decision on the LDA plan’s implementation.
