Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to complete the compulsory land acquisition for the LDA City Jinnah Sector, news sources reported. In this regard, LDA has sent a budget allocation summary of PKR 1 billion to LDA Director-General Ahmad Aziz Tarar.

According to reports, at a meeting presided over by LDA Chief Engineer I Israr Saeed, it was said that the authority would conclude the compulsory land acquisition procedure, providing relief to the project’s 11,000 allottees and file holders. On the occasion, LDA City Director Khurram Yaqoob stated that land acquisition will benefit allottees of Jinnah Sector’s Blocks G, M, J, Q, and E. It was also said that the LDA has collected PKR 2.20 billion in taxes in the last six months of the current fiscal year, but it still requires more funds to acquire land for the same sector.

It is important to mention that LDA has completed 80% of the total land acquisition for the said sector. However, due to funds shortage, the land purchase was halted.
