The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has set terms of reference (TOR) of a commission constituted to safeguard the rights of people in property sale, purchase, transfer, allotment, cancellation and other related matters.
The office of the commission has been established at III Civic Centre, Quaid-e-Azam Town, Township. According to a news source, the commission has been set up under Section 32 of the LDA Act and the main purpose of the commission is to hear cases related to bona fide property disputes that have occurred before December 16, 2013.
This commission will not hear cases being heard in any court, but if a claimant withdraws their case from the court and submits it to the commission with an affidavit, the commission can consider it. An LDA spokesperson told reporters, however, that the commission’s verdict could be challenged in a court of law.
If you are the verifiable owner or purchaser of any disputed property, you can move the commission to probe your case and get a solution to it. Not only that, the commission can also be contacted to bring to its notice matters related to illegal housing schemes.
The spokesperson also stated that the applicants seeking resolution of their property-related disputes were required to prove their authenticity by providing certain details. Each applicant will have to pay Rs 5,000 as a deposit fee for the commission to process the case.
I personally believe that the development of a commission to resolve genuine property disputes of people is a great move by the LDA. There must be a number of people seeking resolution to their real estate-related problems, and now they can move the commission to find a solution to their longstanding issues.
it is only in Pakistan that buyers did not have any kind of rights, especially land owner mafia is so powerful that buyer can not do any thing
This commission is nonsense. If its verdict can be challenged in court, what’s the use.
A poor man will again go through long long court proceedings.
Withdraw your case from court, pay Rs 5000 win your case from commission,Than land mafia will challenge it court and drag you again in courts.
hahahaha
Please let me know wether the commission is hearing the Ahad towar shops dispute .
Challenging in the court of law has slashed the effectiveness of the commission.
The day we empower the buyer we shall have a revolution in this country. This system only protects the big fish.
filthy one
These people have some strong hand on their back to still money from the middle class people.
All these LAND MAFIA are backed by all the Govt. Representatives.
I am already stuck in one of these so called advanced Housing societies. This is my request to all please don’t invest your HALAL money in these projects.
IT is called in Punjabi “Truck de bati magar lag jao…………………………..”never end of this story
Does this commission also hear cases of LDA mortgaged plots of LDA approved cooperative housing societies?
Many approved societies have already sold LDA mortgaged plots to common people without letting them know that they are mortgaged.
If second party (Land Mafya) will refuse the decision of LDA commission , how commission will help the first Party (buyer)
Though i 100 percent agree about land mafia but you have no courage to name the society and thus safeguard the interest of that mafia to protect and conceal their name. and this is the prevalent diiplomacy in pakistan. i save my skin baqi loog pahar mein jain.
LDA should complete possession in LDA AVE1 first than this project should start
