Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has asked private builders to develop green areas inside their housing schemes, according to a news publication. This directive comes as a follow-up on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘Clean and Green’ initiative.

Section 15 of LDA Private Housing Scheme Rules – 2014 makes it mandatory for private schemes to develop green belts and plant tress under a landscape plan.
The authority has directed to take immediate steps with regard to carrying out an effective tree plantation campaign. Moreover, it has asked developers to implement measures under an approved plan.
