The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has initiated an operation against private housing schemes in Lahore for not completing the construction work on scheduled. At the same time, the authority will check the construction quality of the LDA approved housing schemes and the pace of development work just to ensure that development work is being executed as per the specifications.
LDA employees have visited several housing schemes in the presence of their developers and collected various samples of materials being used in the construction of roads and other infrastructure for analysis. Developers of private housing schemes situated within the LDA’s controlled area are directed to take every possible measure to complete the development work at the earliest possible time according to the approved plans. Otherwise, LDA warned to auction the mortgaged plots to collect revenue for this purpose.
LDA has also informed general public not to buy plots in any housing scheme that is not approved by the LDA. Additional blocks or illegally extended areas which are not a part of the approved layout plan and mortgaged plots will not be procured. The LDA also warned not to buy plots at the sites reserved for public utility buildings such as schools, dispensers, parks or graveyards.
