Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has included over 7,500 illegal commercial activities in its digital mapping system over the past two months, with plans to map an additional 20,000 properties during the current financial year. The news has been sourced from an article on December 14.

According to the details, LDA DG Tahir Farooq shared the progress during a briefing to the Provincial Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin on Monday. The DG said commercialisation fees are being enforced on properties along eight newly commercialised highways.
Minister Yasin reviewed steps to prevent illegal commercial activities on 58 commercial highways in Lahore. He directed the LDA to replace the manual notice system with digital notices and ensure certifications are issued for approved commercial properties under a systematic process.

Minister Yasin emphasised that digital reforms in the LDA will eliminate corruption, improve transparency, and protect citizens’ savings. He also called for expanding the internship program in the LDA Town Planning Wing and increasing the number of interns to enhance efficiency.
