The provincial government previously asked contractors to complete all development work on these shelter homes by February 20. So far, only the infrastructure of four shelter homes has been completed, while the fifth is under-construction.
Dr Raheel Siddiqui, Secretary to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, recently notified Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director-General Amna Imran of the new deadline.
The chief minister has ordered LDA to expedite labour work and operationalise these buildings within two months’ timeframe.
