LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has been given the approval to amend the Integrated Master Plan of Lahore (IMPL-2021).
Under the amended plan, Lahore’s eastern and north-western areas will be opened for the development of housing and other infrastructure development projects and all of the developments in these areas will be given legal status.
According to a news report, the north-western and eastern areas were limited to agriculture, however, various developments were undertaken there in violation of the old regulations of IMPL-2021.
In a recent meeting of the LDA’s governing body, it was decided that amendments would be made to the regulations so that the eastern and north-western areas of Lahore could be opened to infrastructure and housing developments, as several development projects were already launched there and the land could not be retrieved for cultivation.
