Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Monday (December 13) has requested the immediate release of PKR 7.96 billion additional funds for the completion of six ongoing development projects in the existing fiscal year, news sources reported. To this effect, LDA Chief Engineer (II) Mazhar Hussain Khan has forwarded the proposal detailing the funds’ requirement to the provincial housing department.

According to sources, the LDA has requested funding for the Sheranwala Gate Flyover, the Samanabad Mor Underpass, the rehabilitation of Babu Sabu side roads, the Gulab Devi Underpass, the Shahkam Flyover Project, and the recently approved project in Saggian. For the completion of the above-mentioned projects, the authority has asked the following funds from the government:
- A total of PKR 223.7 million has been requested for the rehabilitation of roads near the Babu Sabu Interchange.
- The authority has requested PKR 736.5 million for the Gulab Devi Underpass project completion. Out of the allocated funds of PKR 1.71 billion, only PKR 500 million have been issued so far.
- PKR 1.23 billion has been asked for the Shahkam Flyover project from the total allocated funds of PKR 4.23 billion. So far the government has only released PKR 1 billion.

- PKR 1.90 billion is requested for the completion of the Sheranwala Gate Flyover from the total allocated funds of PKR 4.90 billion.
- A total of PKR 2.80 billion has been requested for the newly proposed Saggian Project.
