Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s Engineering Department recently forwarded budget proposals to the development authority’s governing body regarding the planned infrastructural development projects for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21 — according to a news source. In this regard, the LDA plans on utilizing its own funds to develop the Firdous Market and Kareem Block underpass projects.

Reportedly, the proposals are worth PKR 3.66 billion and include funds for the construction of two underpasses and the maintenance and upkeep of the city’s roads. The major development projects under this budget include PKR 10 million for the construction of the LDA Tower on Ferozepur Road; PKR 1 million for Main Boulevard Samanabad; PKR 1 million for roads in Sabzazar; PKR 15 million for extension of Joray Pull Intersection; PKR 25 million for roads in Faisal Town; PKR 970 million for Firdous Market Underpass; PKR 1.2 billion for Kareem Block Underpass; PKR 80 million for road between Jallo and BRB; PKR 59 million for pedestrian bridge on Main Boulevard, Johar Town; and PKR 250 million for projects on the Citizen Portal.

The proposals will be presented before the next scheduled meeting of the LDA Governing Body.
