Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has formed a firefighting and rescue squad to deal with any sort of emergency, a news source reported. The squad has been formed on the directions of LDA Director General Amna Imran Khan.
A three-day training camp in collaboration with Pakistan Emergency Services Academy was also organised for the squad to train them on firefighting. The camp was attended by 40 officials of the squad.
Both the trainers and squad members were awarded shields and appreciation certificates by the LDA DG on the concluding day of the training camp.
Meanwhile, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), as part of its ongoing campaign against illegal housing schemes, demolished infrastructure in six illegal housing schemes. The Metropolitan Planning Wing of LDA demolished the infrastructure of a housing scheme that was in violation of the master plan of Lahore Division. LDA staff also demolished boundary walls, roads, and sewerage systems of five other housing schemes.
