Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is considering to expedite the approvals process for the city’s new housing projects — a news source reported. In this regard, the relevant amendments to the LDA bylaws will be deliberated in the upcoming meeting of the authority’s governing body on May 4.

The LDA will also look to amend the working of its construction department and these amendments will be one of the major points of the 21-poing agenda prepared for the upcoming meeting — which is the authority first meeting to be held after a period of more than 45 days.
The meeting’s agenda includes a review of the coronavirus situation and its impact on LDA activities. Extensions in payments will also be obtained.

A working paper on the operation against illegal construction will also be presented before the meeting. In addition, the various amendments in mechanisms for joint ventures and auction bylaws will be discussed during the session as well — among other important matters.
