Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has finalised the consultant for the preparation of ‘Master Plan 2050’ for the city, a news source reported on December 29. According to the detail revealed, Lebanese consortium Dar-ul-Handsa qualified for the task following the evaluation of technical proposals submitted by three shortlisted firms.

The civic agency finalized the consultant during a meeting of the Consultant Selection Committee; presided over by LDA Director General (DG) Ahmed Aziz Tarar. The officials concerned also opened the financial bid amounting to PKR 520 million submitted by the company during the same session.
The LDA DG stated that the civic agency had consulted all stakeholders over the TORs for the Lahore Master Plan 2050, which will determine the future course of development for the Punjab capital, adding that the completion of said task in a transparent manner is the top priority for the LDA.

Chief Metropolitan Planner Syed Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, Director Metropolitan Planning Faisal Qureshi, Water Specialist M Riaz, representatives of P&D Department and Finance Department, Chairman City & Regional Planning Department Engineering University Lahore Prof Dr Shakir Mehmood, and TOR Committee members Engineer Akbar Sheikh and Kamil Khan Mumtaz were all present at the occasion.
