Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Wednesday (November 03) finalised the prequalification of companies for two important road infrastructure projects in the city, news sources reported. The authority has decided to start work on the construction of roads adjacent to the Babu Sabu interchange and the dualisation of the Burki Road-BRB canal road in the coming months.

Furthermore, the authorities stated that seven firms have qualified for the PKR 400 million Burki Road project, while four firms qualified for the PKR 242.7 million Babu Sabu Road infrastructure project. The LDA will begin construction on the project during the current fiscal year (FY 2021-22). In other infrastructure development updates, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the Gulab Devi Underpass construction site on Wednesday (November 03). LDA Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar briefed him on the construction work and stated that the underpass will be completed by December.

He stated that the contractor has completed the excavation work for the underpass and that renovation and road carpeting work would begin soon. According to the chief minister, the project is critical in resolving the city’s traffic problems, and so accelerated construction is required to complete the project on time.
