Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has finalized the design drafts for Shahkam Chowk Flyover and Defence Road expansion project, a news source reported. The projects will be completed at a cost of PKR 3.8 billion.

According to details, the Punjab government will issue funds for the said initiatives. The flyover’s design was finalised after public objections were heard as per the bylaws. As per the project’s PC-1, the plan is to expand Shahkam Chowk Flyover and Defence Road from Labour Colony to Multan Road.
The construction of flyover has been estimated at PKR 1 billion. It will be dual carriageway, three lane project, with a length of 600 metres.

Meanwhile, Defence Road will also be turned into a dual carriageway between Labour Colony and Multan Road, which is estimated to cost PKR 1.5 billion. An additional amount of PKR 1 billion will be allocated for acquisition of land for both the projects.
