Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced its decision to amend the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations in a bid to facilitate the city’s construction sector, a news source reported. To this effect, it has prepared a draft of the said revisions; which currently awaits approval.

The decision was taken after Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan issued instructions to the authorities concerned to facilitate the construction sector in the country. At the same time, LDA has also launched development work in various localities which come under its jurisdiction.
According to details, the LDA Governing Body is expected to take important decisions during its next meeting. The body will also review the proposal of building street structures to further facilitate the builders. Under the current regulations by LDA, a building can be only be constructed by using RCC materials.

It is expected that nearly 1,000 new projects will be developed in the country during the next seven months under the prime minister’s construction sector incentive package.
