Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Tahir Farooq visited the headquarters of the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) to urge the activation of its enforcement wing and ensure visible performance in the field. The news was sourced on March 13.

According to the details, TEPA Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain provided an overview of TEPA’s performance and activities. Under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, TEPA has already completed filling potholes at 539 locations in the city.
LDA DG Farooq emphasised the need for an action plan to enhance TEPA’s effectiveness further. He instructed TEPA. Illegal signboards on city roads should be removed, allowing only approved ones. Strict enforcement of parking rules, as per approved maps, was stressed, with encroachments in parking spaces to be cleared.

Furthermore, DG Farooq highlighted the importance of issuing notices and warnings to violators, with subsequent action taken for non-compliance. He tasked TEPA’s Chief Engineer with presenting a future action plan, including a survey of U-turns at city entrances and exits. Collaboration with traffic police to improve traffic flow at key points was also encouraged.
