Lahore: Punjab Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to identify a suitable land space within the LDA City for setting up the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) in the metropolis, a news source reported.

The minister recently presided over a session held to review progress on the NPHP project at the LDA Head Office. Several officials concerned also attended the session. Rasheed instructed the LDA to reserve up to 2,000 kanals of land in the LDA City for the construction of affordable houses and apartments planned under the NPHP project.
Rasheed added that LDA City officials should finalise matters pertaining to the land allocation process for the NPHP project on an immediate basis in a bid to commence with the development work on low-cost houses in the city.
The session discussed matters in detail pertaining to planning, development, expected costs, construction materials, and other elements for developing the NPHP initiative.

Previously, Rasheed, along with the secretary housing and senior LDA officials, visited three sites identified in the LDA City for developing the NPHP project.
