Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar on Saturday chaired a meeting to formulate various methods for achieving the revenue targets set in the new budget — with heads of the authority’s various divisions given three days to prepare action plans aimed at improving the authority’s revenue collection processes, according to news sources.

The DG directed the authority’s officials to focus on resource generation in order to fund infrastructure development projects in Lahore. He asked the authority’s directors for data mining of plots in their relevant schemes, in regards to extending building periods, issuance of completion certificates, change in land use, commercialisation fees, and formulating practical proposals to boost the LDA’s revenue generation.

He also issued instructions for the wide-scale advertisement of the plots being auctioned by the authority, with an to aim to attract the maximum number of bidders and getting ‘handsome offers for LDA-owned properties and plots’.
Additionally, DG Tarar stated that the authority should make efforts to publicise Prime Minister Imran Khan’s construction relief package, and to persuade investors to avail themselves of all its benefits before the December 31 deadline.
