Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Tahir Farooq has directed to enhance the city’s liveability with initiatives like tree planting, creating green spaces, and promoting cycling, as reported in an article on April 4.
Under the details, this directive came during a significant meeting chaired by DG Farooq to review the operations and performance of the LDA’s Chief Metropolitan Planning (CMP) Wing. The meeting included a detailed overview of the CMP Wing’s activities and actions taken against unauthorised housing schemes as per directives from the Private Housing Schemes.
DG Farooq instructed the digitisation of records related to public utility sites and mortgaged plots, and underscored the importance of enforcing LDA regulations in housing schemes. He urged officials to develop a concrete plan for revenue generation within the CMP Wing, emphasizing the adoption of a private sector model to streamline business operations.
