Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar on Thursday (November 11) instructed contractors of Sheranwala Gate flyover to expedite work on the project, news sources reported. During the visit to the project’s construction site, he instructed Chief Engineer LDA (II), Mazhar Hussain Khan, to work extra shifts to complete the project ahead of schedule.

During his visit to the Sheranwala Gate Flyover, currently known as the Hazrat Ali Hajvery Data Ganj Bakhsh Flyover, DG Tarar stated that a daily construction status report should be provided to ensure that the project stays on track and is completed on time. In a related development, DG LDA Ahmad Aziz Tarar also directed the officials to resolve land-related problems of citizens in a timely manner. He said that the authorities and officers should focus on achieving their targets and initiate action against those involved in illegal construction activities.

He further said that the authority is working on comprehensive measures against land grabbing, encroachments, illegal constructions, and unlawful housing schemes, while also paying special attention to road repair and maintenance in a bid to better serve the citizens.
