Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Chaudhry Mohammad Ali Randhawa on Monday (May 30) visited the construction sites of various ongoing development projects in the city, news sources reported. The DG ordered that work on the projects is to be expedited and that no delays be accepted in public benefit initiatives.

Reportedly, the DG paid a visit to the Data Ganj Baksh flyover, Ek Morya Pul, and Minar-e-Pakistan Sports Complex construction sites. Officers from the LDA team informed him of the project’s progress and pending work. It was reported that the 1-kilometer-long Data Ganj Buksh flyover is currently 90% complete.
The two-lane flyover project, when completed, will be able to accommodate 130,000 vehicles per day. Similarly, the Minar-e-Pakistan Sports Complex project is also nearing completion, with 90% of the work completed. The project is one of the city’s major sports and leisure activity facilities.

According to the project’s design, the 46-kanal project will have a gym, squash court, badminton court, table tennis, swimming pool, snooker club, basketball court, jogging track, carom room, and card room. There will also be a library available for visitors. On the occasion, the DG stressed that all resources will be made available to ensure the successful completion of the projects and urged the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA)’s managing director to personally oversee the development of the projects.
