Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to start 34 new schemes and complete 5 ongoing development projects with its own budget, news sources reported on October 4.

The proposed schemes will be completed with revenue generated through local taxes and the auctioning of plots. The decision was taken by the regulatory authority to gain autonomy from external budgetary constraints and delays in development projects due to funding gaps. As per the LDA sources, the following projects will be completed by LDA on a priority basis in the ongoing fiscal year:
- PKR 9 billion will be spent on the land acquisition for LDA City Phase 1
- PKR 1.70 billion will be allocated for the development of 7 new schemes
- PKR 1.12 billion will be spent on the construction of LDA flats and buildings
- PKR 1.20 billion will be allocated for the sewage and water lines in LDA Avenue 1 Housing Scheme
- PKR 310 million will be spent on various development schemes in housing schemes managed by the authority
- PKR 20.5 million will be allocated for the development of service lanes in Harbans Pura, Mughal Pura and Canal Road
