Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA), as part of its ongoing campaign against illegal housing schemes, demolished infrastructure in six illegal housing schemes, a news source reported. The action was taken because the schemes did not conform to the LDA rules.
The Metropolitan Planning Wing of LDA demolished the infrastructure of a housing scheme as it had violated the rules of the master plan of Lahore Division. The civic body also demolished boundary walls, roads, and sewerage systems of five other housing schemes.
LDA had earlier sealed four housing schemes located along Ferozepur Road as they were operating without the civic body’s approval. The housing schemes violated LDA Private Housing Schemes Rules 2014.
Sources close to the development said LDA would register cases against the developers of these schemes. The civic body had already registered cases against eight other developers for carrying out development work prior to the completion of the approval process.
