Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) plans to build a three-lane flyover on Bhekewal Mor to alleviate the traffic congestion on the road linking Khayaban-e-Jamia Punjab with Main Boulevard Allama Iqbal Town, news sources reported.

The project is estimated to cost PKR 1.9 billion to complete, and it will benefit 200,000 motorists on a daily basis.
According to the LDA’s preliminary plans, a Bhekewal Mor flyover will be built from Sheikh Zayed Hospital to Allama Iqbal Town Boulevard, as well as new U-turns on the main boulevard and the road heading to Sheikh Zayed Hospital.

In addition to this, the LDA has begun work on the reconstruction of Khayaban-e-Firdousi Road. The proposed plan includes the reconstruction of roads leading to and from Allah-Hoo Chowk in Johar Town, as well as the construction of new U-turns and traffic signals on Khayaban-e-Firdousi. The development authority has already awarded the project contract worth PKR 90.6 million to Messrs Concept Engineering, and the project will be completed in two months.
