Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s Metropolitan Planning Wing collected PKR 220.45 million four months in penalties imposed on developers of illegal housing schemes, reported a news source. The Metropolitan Wing Chief Planner Azhar Ali shared this information with LDA Director General Suleha Saeed by presenting the wing’s 4-month report.

According to this report, the wing sent notices to the developers of 363 housing schemes and filed an FIR against 60 of them in these months. The report also mentioned that the wing carried out legal action against 115 illegal housing schemes in the city. Out of these 115 schemes, the wing approved 26 housing schemes.

The Metropolitan Planning Wing also retrieved amenity plots in these schemes. The report also included details on the plantation tasks assigned to the developers of private housing schemes. The report also mentions that wing has also completed the new scrutiny process for granting approval to private housing schemes.
