Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced that up to 65% of the infrastructural work of its LDA City residential project has been completed, according to news sources.

Sources reported that after the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the construction work on the scheme resumed – with the labourers and machines are currently busy working on the other six packages of the scheme. Assistant Director Zohaib Malik has revealed to the press that the labourers working on the site are complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and are wearing face masks while on duty. He highlighted that the contractors have been particularly warned about the importance of following SOPs and consequences of non-compliance.

Taking about the status of the LDA City development work he added that they are working to construct the roads and install a sewerage network in the LDA City. The newly-awarded contractor teams and machinery for package 1, 4 and 6 have arrived. Malik pointed out that a network of 120-kilometre roads is being developed in the LDA City and for completion of allied services, tenders of worth PKR 16.5 billion have been awarded.
