Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will complete the plot-cutting process in LDA City Phase I in a timeframe of eight months, a news source reported. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar recently chaired a meeting of LDA’s governing body, during which he approved the project, and directed for its early completion within the period stated.

In his further instructions, the CM stressed over the full implementation of the hiring quota for special persons. The meeting’s participants also agreed over the digitisation of the project’s file recording system.
CM Buzdar additionally gave orders to form a committee for hiring consultants for the Lahore Division Master Plan 2040, as well as other developmental concerns. He also directed the LDA to complete the repair & maintenance work of roads under its jurisdiction on a priority basis. The CM instructed the LDA officials concerned to quickly finish the task of composing the rules & regulations for the construction of high-rise buildings in Lahore.
The LDA officials present at the meeting informed the CM that they sought the formation of a consultative committee for making policies related to the planning and development of high-rises.
CM Buzdar directed that the authorities concerned should ensure the beatification of the entry and exit points of the city, along with identification of traffic-jam zones. He stressed over taking practical steps to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the city; instead of doing mere paperwork. He warned that the government would not tolerate any delays in projects concerned with public welfare.
The CM also commented on the issue of road-signs, ordering for their earliest possible installation. The meeting also discussed a proposal for excluding other districts from LDA’s jurisdiction.

LDA officials informed the meeting that trained staff will be appointed for fire-fighting in the city’s markets, and apprised the participants regarding the launch of an awareness campaign geared towards the cleanliness and beautification of the market places.
