Lahore: Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed on Wednesday announced the construction of a new 2km-long link road between LDA City Phase I and Ferozepur Road, according to news sources.
He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting held to review the progress on the housing scheme’s development. He said that this project, which was rapidly progressing towards completion, was a ‘new city of the future’.

In response, the officials concerned said that the development work was underway on the 4000-kanal area of the LDA City. They added that the scheme’s file holders would pay half of the cost incurred on this development process. Further, the management of the LDA City would organise a plot balloting event for the 9,000 file holders on November 30 – and a working paper on the scheduled programme would be presented in the next meeting for approval.

The meeting was informed of the decision to prequalify the contractors and task them to complete the development work. The interested firms were recently invited to submit their bids by October 25.
