Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced its decision to include the exemption letters issued till November 26 in its plot balloting process for LDA City Phase I – scheduled to take place on November 30, according to news sources. As per details, these exemption letters were issued to the alottees of developed plots in exchange for their land previously acquired by the civic agency for the development of its residential scheme.

Additional Director General (Urban Planning) Rana Tikka Khan, during his meeting with the project’s development partners on Tuesday, said that all arrangements for the LDA City balloting event 2019 were near finalisation.
Previously, to facilitate the land providers, the development authority had provide these individuals with 31% of the total plots against their entire land. Further, these people were issued exemption letters; which could be sold as plot files.
The urban development wing of LDA has already initiated the development work, the charges for which will be added to all plots (to be received from the file holders) at a later stage.

ADG Tikka Khan said that the mutation of land transfer from landowners to the LDA (post-acquisition) needed to be expedited. He added that Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act had been imposed to acquire remaining 1,500 kanals for the project. Those who want to receive payment instead of developed plots will be compensated shortly, he further stated.
