Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Amna Imran Khan has said that the bidding process for carrying out development work in LDA City would be completed on a fast-track basis, reported a news source. Khan shared these views while chairing a high-level meeting held to discuss project updates.

The meeting members informed the DG that out of the 13,000 kanals of land required for the project, the LDA had already acquired 10,000 kanals; 8000 kanals of which are under the possession of the development authority. Furthermore, the process to acquire the remaining 3,000 kanals of land has been paced up.

According to the details shared in the news report, once the development partners are done with the land acquisition, the LDA would take the lead in attaining possession of the remaining land. For this purpose, the authority will allocate PKR 1 billion under PC-1.
Reportedly, the LDA Governing Body has approved PKR 1.2 billion for initiating on-site development work at the location. At the moment, work on laying infrastructure is under way on 2,000 kanals of land in LDA City; slated for completion in three months.

The PC-1 for initiating development work on the remaining 13,000 kanals has also been prepared. The development authority is expected to invite tenders for development work, once the LDA Governing Body grants its approval.
