Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s governing body has approved new development charges for the Jinnah and Iqbal sectors of LDA City, according to the authority’s official Facebook page on November 15.

The decision was reached at the sixth meeting of the LDA’s governing board, which was presided over by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi. The increased prices will be applicable in the third balloting of the Jinnah and Iqbal sectors’ allotted residential plots. Moreover, the development charges are also subject to a possible increase in development expenditure as well as other terms and conditions mentioned in the allocation letter.

As per the news post, the charges may later be increased at the time of completion of development work.

In addition to this, the governing body also took the following decisions:
- Roof gardens and car parking facilities have been made mandatory for all apartment projects in the city
- Mosques have been exempted from sewage charges
- The board approved an improved LDA Avenue-1 project layout plan.
- Establishment of a “Settlement Committee” to resolve disputes in LDA-managed projects.
- Maximum vertical heights for schools of up to 48 feet have been approved, and no school will be permitted on roads narrower than 30 feet.
