Lahore: The committee concerned has prepared a ballot policy with an aim to allot plots to approximately 9,000 LDA City filer holders, a news source reported. The members of the committee have also proposed December 21 as the ballot date for allotting plot numbers to the LDA City file holders.

As per sources, the governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) – in its next meeting – will grant final approval to the draft detailing the LDA City ballot policy. The date for this meeting has not been announced as of yet.
According to the details, the committee has proposed development charges applicable on the file holders. The proposed development charges for a 1-kanal residential plot file amount to PKR 2.5 million, while the charges to be collected from file holders who purchased 1-kanal plot files from private developers has been proposed at PKR 1.25 million.

Moreover, the development charges proposed on a 10-marla plot file (purchased from entities other than private developers) amount to PKR 1.675 million. The charges proposed for collection from individuals who purchased the same-sized plot file from private developers amount to PKR 837,500.
Similarly, the 5-marla plot file owners who had finalised transactions with private developers are expected to pay PKR 575,000. The development charges otherwise proposed on a 5-marla plot file stand at PKR 1.15 million.
