He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting held to review progress on the implementation of the NPHP project in the province. He said that the proposed changes to the building by-laws would encourage the developers and builders to play their role in the development of the affordable housing scheme.
He said that the construction of 2.5 million housing units in Punjab under the NPHP initiative could only be achieved by taking the private sector on board. To facilitate this measure, Punjab Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed had recently announced the establishment of a new Public-Private Partnership Authority.
