Lahore: The governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) recently provided its approval to the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2020 for Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib, according to news sources.

According to the details revealed, the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2020 aim to promote business, commercial and other economic activities in the aforementioned districts of the Lahore Division. The zones in these districts are categorized into industrial, commercial, institutional and other zones. The meeting also determined the criteria regarding plot sizes, road widths and other standards for launching new projects.
The LDA governing body meeting was held under the chair of the authority’s Vice Chairman S M Imran. The said meeting also approved the revised PC-1 amounting to PKR 49.54 billion for the phase-one of the LDA City. This sum includes PKR 9.67 billion for compulsory land acquisition.

Furthermore, the meeting decided to invite technical and financial bids for the construction of 35,000 affordable housing units under the ‘LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments’. A committee to evaluate the responses received was also constituted in the same sitting.
The meeting also approved the proposal presented by the negotiation committee for finalizing terms with a private housing society to offer plots to the 613 affectees of LDA Avenue-I. The private housing scheme will provide 1,555 kanals of land to the authority ‘in lieu of developed plots equal to 30 per cent of its land’.
