Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Monday (October 11) submitted three megaprojects for approval to the Planning and Development (P&D) Department, news sources reported. The proposed new projects include repairing and rehabilitating Sagian Road, restoring the Babu Sabu Interchange dual highways, and construction of Shahdara Turbo Roundabout.

Following clearance from the P&D department, the LDA will propose the megaprojects for final approval to the LDA Governing Body, which is led by Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar. Reportedly, LDA has demanded PKR 247.3 million for the construction of roads adjacent to Babu Sabu Interchange, PKR 753.3 million for the repair and rehabilitation of Sagian Road and PKR 5.5 billion for construction and redesign of Shahdara Turbo Roundabout.

Moreover, to solve the city’s traffic difficulties, LDA is currently working on three other megaprojects that include the Shahkam Chowk flyover, the Gulab Devi Underpass, and the Sheranwala Flyover.
