Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has begun the digitisation of land records in several areas of the city; including Gulberg and Johar Town, among others — a news source reported on Saturday (July 4). This initiative comes as part of the authority’s plan to shift its regular transfer processes online in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

According to the details available, the records for the following areas are being digitised: Gulberg, Jubilee Town, Mohlanwal Scheme, Sabzazar, Gulshan-e-Ravi, China Scheme, Gujjarpura, and Upper Mall Scheme. After the digitization process has been completed, transfer requests will be received online and their record will also be provided online.

As per the sources, in the initiative’s first phase, the record of 2,800 allotments in Johar Town will be checked. During the process of record sifting, the possession letter, allotment letter, and layout of the properties will be checked. In case the allotment letter is not verified, the allotment will stand cancelled.
