Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is prepared to launch the Orange Line Metro Train Project and is requesting the Prime Minister to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony.
LDA Chief Engineer, Israr Saeed, said that the date of the ceremony would be decided as soon as a response was received from the PM. He further added that all procedural arrangements were in order and a delegation from a Chinese company working on the project had arrived in Lahore to discuss plans with LDA.
The Chinese company along with local companies, Habib Construction Services (HCS) and Maqbool Kolsen, would be responsible for the project. The project is expected to be complete within ten months.
HCS has assured that construction would not disrupt business activity and a proper strategy is in place to prevent damage to historical buildings on the route.
