Lahore: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has handed over 623 possession letters of an estimated worth of PKR 4.5 billion to the affectees of LDA Avenue I, according to news sources.
In a ceremony attended by senior department officials, the Director Investigation NAB distributed the letters among the aforementioned affectees.

As per the sources, the plot bookings for LDA Avenue-I were initiated in 2002, and have been stalled ever since. Numerous affectees of the project approached NAB to get their grievances addressed this year.
Director General NAB, upon the directives of Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal, initiated the case proceedings to resolve the monetary woes of the people involved. Finally, after multiple review briefings and subsequent procedures, the department finally came through and resolved the cases.

The NAB officials are also working to resolve the claims of the estimated remaining 1,350 affectees of the project.
Previously, LDA had also announced the transfer of the possession of plots to 136 out of the total 2,000 affectees of the housing scheme and conducted a ballot for its first phase on November 07, 2019.
