Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Avenue-I Central Park, an 87-kanal project aimed at enhancing Lahore’s eco-friendliness, as reported in a news article on May 21.

According to the details, the park, part of the LDA Avenue-I Society, serves as a pilot model in the city’s campaign to become a leading eco-friendly residential area. It features a jogging track, walkways, a children’s play area, an open gym, a badminton court, a cafeteria, a mosque, and a rose garden. Additionally, solar street lights have been installed along walkways and designated vending points offer food items. Facilities for rainwater harvesting and cycling have been included, along with a model cemetery.

During the visit, CM Maryam was briefed on the innovative environmental protection and beautification measures taken in the park. She also inspected the newly designed vending carts selling fruits and vegetables and reviewed the upgraded LDA enforcement squad. CM Maryam presented the enforcement squad with new uniforms, equipment, machinery, and the keys to new bikes.
