Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced the ballot date for plot allotments in LDA Avenue-I, a news source reported. The ballot will be conducted on January 14, where the authority will make allotments to 487 plot owners.

Previously, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had issued the directives to resolve the concerns of the scheme’s affectees. In following through , LDA Director Sameer Ahmed presided over a recent meeting to review all the developments on this front. Several important LDA officials, Urban Planning Director Rana Tikka Khan and the LDA City Director Fahad Anees, also attended the session .

The meeting members were informed that the developers of two other housing schemes , namely the Mumtaz Housing Scheme and the Board of Revenue Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme,situated in the area earmarked for LDA Avenue-I, had agreed to surrender their land; and that further negotiations with them were currently underway. Following these deliberations, the LDA will reportedly offer them plots in exchange for the land transferred.

The meeting was also briefed on the mechanism to be used for conducting the ballot process.
