Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) recently organised a ballot event for allocating plots to the affectees of the LDA Avenue-1 project, a news source reported. Further, the civic agency announced its decision to soon commence with the transfer of possessions to about 136 affectees of the Block A and B.

As per details, the Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees Cooperative Society has acceded to getting 30% exemption against its 315-kanal land in the Avenue 1. And for that concession, the society has been awarded 398 plots of various sizes that span over 94.5 kanals. The division includes 104 plots of 3-Marla area, 255 plots of 5-Marla and 30 plots of 10-Marla area. These plots were awarded according to the result of the ballot. After this ballot, the affectees of A and B Block will be granted possession of their plots.

According to reports, legal proceedings initiated some 16 years ago against several illegal residential schemes constructed on the land reserved for LDA Avenue-1’s development have had delayed the transfers of possessions to almost 2,000 allottees. The talks to resolve the matter for other blocks are also underway, and the affectees will also be granted possession soon.
