Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has auctioned commercial and residential plots in various schemes, fetching a total of PKR 470.22 million, a news source reported on June 21.

The news source disclosed that the LDA auctions commercial and residential plots in Jubilee Town, Mustafa Town, Tajpura, and LDA Avenue One. The proceedings were overseen by members of the auction committee, including Finance Director, LDA Avenue One Director, Housing X Director, and other relevant officials. The terms and conditions of the auction were announced on-site.

Simultaneously, an operation was carried out by the LDA to tackle encroachments and illegal constructions on parking spaces along Main Boulevard Allama Iqbal Town. During the operation, over 16 shops, including prominent brands, restaurants, food outlets, plazas, and other commercial properties, were demolished, while 12 shops were sealed. Despite receiving multiple notices to remove encroachments, the violators failed to comply. The joint operation involved teams from the LDA and Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) and targeted unauthorized parking spaces and encroachments throughout the city.
