Besides approving the funds for the said initiative, the DG LDA gave directives for repainting of the curb stones in various areas of the city. He said that the civic body planned to repair the roads on a priority basis in order to resolve traffic flow issues (especially at the Thokar Niaz Baig junction). For this purpose, the LDA would request the private sector’s assistance.
Moreover, he announced the launch of a crackdown against land grabbers and encroachers found involved in the construction of illegal structures. He issued a warning to the public that they should vacate state property, and eliminate all illegal residential and commercial structures within a fortnight’s time. Once the deadline has passed, the authority will take strict action against violators.
Meanwhile, the civic agency has decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) for biometric verification of all the stakeholders who undertake property transactions. The two authorities are expected to sign the MoU today (Monday).
