Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved the construction plans of 121 apartment buildings in order to promote vertical growth and to meet the growing industrial, residential, and commercial needs in the city, according to news story published on Tuesday (January 18).

As per the details, the construction designs have been approved by LDA Town Planning Wing during March to December 2021. According to an official source (whose name was not disclosed), several more similar plans are under consideration.
Moreover, the town planning department approved maps/plans of 5,656 residential buildings in its controlled area. The authority also approved plans of 284 commercial and industrial buildings and granted completion certificates to 903 buildings. The LDA allowed land-use conversion to 202 projects, and approved 13 building projects under the area development scheme.

Reportedly, as many as 6,067 buildings were sealed or demolished partially or completely for violating town planning regulations.
