Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved funds for 16 development schemes, which include the carpeting and rehabilitation work of the Bedian Road, according to a news source. The decision was taken in a meeting of the LDA Development Sub Committee held on Friday (May 31).

Presiding over the session, LDA Director General Ahmed Aziz Tarar approved funds worth PKR 730.84 million for various development schemes. Reportedly, the funds will be issued during the current fiscal year, while the LDA will allot project tenders later this month. The LDA is expected to utilize its own budget for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the required funds.

The projects to be developed starting from June 2020 include:
- Construction of a pedestrian bridge on Main Boulevard, Johar Town
- Construction of a pedestrian bridge on Ferozepur Road, near Kalma Chowk
- Completion of asphalt work on Bagrian Road and connecting road network
- Rehabilitation of road linking College Road and Chaudhry Road in Township (Sector B-1)
- Patch work at dilapidated roads in UCs 226, 227, 229, 237, and UC 239
- Installation of sight proof louvers at Liberty Parking Plaza
- Installation of Street Lights on road linking Canal Road and Jawad Chowk
- Lane marking and installation of cat’s eyes on Canal Road between Thokar Niaz Baig and Harbunspura
- Dualisation of Zarar Shaheed Road up till Harbunspura
- Construction of a U-turn below Qainchi Flyover to improve traffic flow
- Carpeting and rehabilitation of Bedian Road
