Lahore: The housing schemes approved by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) have been tasked with planting 2,000 to 20,000 trees on their premises in these monsoon months, depending on their spanning area, according to news sources.
The department has instructed the schemes to plant 15 saplings (no shorter than 6 feet) for each kanal of land. Special teams have been formed to oversee the proper execution of this development plan.

The Director General of LDA Muhammad Usman Muazzam declared that the plantation drive should involve both government and citizens, and everyone should partake in this environmental drive as their sovereign duty. He planted a sapling in the Fazaia Housing Scheme near Raiwind Road in a campaign to beautify and increase green cover in Lahore.

The Chief Metropolitan Planner Syed Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, Director Bushra Naseer, and administration and top officials of the Fazaia Housing Scheme also planted saplings at the occasion.
