Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced incentives for investors interested in developing educational institutes in the city, according to a post published on the authority’s official Facebook page on January 27.

Under the LDA Land Use Rules 2020, investors can apply for the authority’s approval for construction of primary, higher secondary, college and university. The regulations further allow construction of preschool on 19-marla land with 30ft wide road; construction of a primary school on 1-kanal land area with 30ft wide road; construction of a higher secondary school on 4-kanal land area and 40ft wide road.
Moreover, the development authority is offering a discount of up to 50% for commercialization of residential land and an added 5% discount on lump sum payment.

Moreover, it was announced that to promote business activity, the minimum width of road will be 20 feet for Sheikupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib tehsils. The no-objection requirement for the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) has been waived off as well.
It was also announced that owners of properties being temporarily used for commercial purposes can apply for permanent approvals under Land Use Rules 2020’s permissible use conversion.
