Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced to amend the Private Housing Schemes Rule, a news source reported. The civic agency, by introducing these revisions, aim to promote the construction of high-rises in Lahore.
To this effect, builders will be able to develop apartment project spanning 100 kanals of land following the introduction of these amendments. The road width in such projects may also reduce from 30 feet to 15 feet.

LDA Vice Chairman Sheikh Muhammad Imran revealed that the LDA governing body had provided its approval to these amendments and forwarded the summary to Punjab Cabinet for its approval.
In a separate development, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) formulated the ‘Master Plan 2040’ for developing sewerage and water drainage projects in the city. This blueprint was reviewed in a meeting held on Sunday.

The meeting members also reviewed the proposal to expand the authority’s jurisdiction and the business plan to increase revenue collection.
The agency recently announced an amnesty scheme in a bid to regularise illegal water connections. The amnesty scheme will expire in one month. Once the deadline expires, the authority will start an operation.
