In a meeting held on Tuesday 8th August, the Governing Body of the LDA decided to complete 9 development projects in different areas of Lahore. A total of Rs 1.1 billion is allotted for uplifting city’s infrastructure. The meeting was headed by LDA Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal.
The governing body decided to continue the construction of the 2 kilometre long road connecting Johar Town E-Block with Doctors Hospital.
The budget allocated to this project is Rs 235.32 million. It was also agreed upon by the governing body to widen and improve Khayaban–e-Jamia Punjab from Campus Canal Bridge to Bhekwal Junction with a total cost of Rs 93.74 million.
The makeover of Al Madina Road, Qaid-e-Azam Town will be done with an amount of Rs 192.86 million. The cost of fixing the road leading to Kharak Drain Sabzazar Scheme from Liaqat Chowk is Rs 35 million. For installation of street lights on Jinnah Avenue leading to Raiwind Road from Shaukat Khanum Hospital Chowk, an amount of Rs 68.1027 million is reserved.
It was also planned in the meeting to connect Nursery Chowk with Southern Bypass MA Johar Town by constructing a 1.5 km long road along Khamba Distributory, with an amount of Rs 150 million.
An amount of Rs 41.58 million is reserved for the construction of a bridge at Chotta Ravi Drain Gujjarpura Scheme Model Bazar. For improvement and rehabilitation of road leading to Lahore Bridge, Ferozpur Road from Peco Road Chowk, Rs 202.895 million are allotted. The amount meant for widening of Canal Bank Road for better circulation of traffic at the Laal Paul Intersection is Rs 85.235 million.
